Avoid Car Flip Horrors with QuikrNXT.

My experience with Quikr has been a pleasant one. I have managed to score some great bargains and some really sweet deal off the website. It’s a great platform for buyers and sellers to connect while eliminating all the drama. I reckon it’s a great place for start ups and small scale entrepreneurs that help them show case their products, free of cost and in turn help them reach out to their potential buyers. Along with entrepreneurs it’s also a great place to flip unwanted things that otherwise eat dust in your attic.

For instance I bought my nephew a sparingly used Crocks bag pack for only rs. 400 that otherwise would have retailed for noting less than rs.2100 in the market. I also managed to sell  his play gym and a rocker for a mighty sweet deal.

There are a lot of apprehensions about the site. For instance people don’t want to give out their personal details along with the advertisement fearing that they might be vulnerable to losing their privacy. Taking note of this apprehension, Quikr has come up with a brilliant concept of QuikrNXT. It’s an exclusive chat app that lets you get in touch with the seller, while keeping your privacy intact. No more bizarre inquiries at odd times of the day. You can now reach out to the client at your time and convenience. Can this get any better?

Practicing what I preach!
Since I was all gaga over the site, I tried flipping my Dad’s 2000make Maruti Esteem. It’s been lying unused in my garage since the past 6 months. Since he had a bitter experience in dealing with the local car dealer, he was apprehensive about making a sale with them. So that’s when I proposed the idea of posting the add on Quikr. I downloaded the QuikrNxt app on his smart phone and asked him to give it a shot. Not looking too impressed with the idea at first, he still decided to give it a shot.

I explained the mechanics of the app to him and really reassured him that there will be no random people calling him while he is busy giving presentation in the boardroom. Every day after work, like an excited child he would share messages about potential buyers. I just hoped and prayed that things would finally materialize with someone.

So after five days, on a Sunday morning, he wakes me up and tells me to get the car sparkling clean, as its new owner was on her way to test drive it. If all goes well she might pick it up today itself he said. As promised at 10.30 a father daughter team showed up at our door to test drive the car. The girl had just turned 18 and her dad was buying the car for her as a birthday gift. They were happy that the pictures depicted the cars true condition and they froze the deal right then. Dad sold it for a cool 75k which was way more than what the scarp dealer had quoted. He was happy to sell the car to someone who appreciated it just like he did.

A win-win for me!
Dad had noticed a great condition 2007 model Honda civic, that was well within his budget and was available from a seller on Quikr. He got in touch with the seller and made a down payment from the money he made off the Esteem. Guess what? After 15 days, I was cruising my way to in my personal Honda Civic.
How glad I am that I introduced Quikr to my PA... love him...

If it hadn't been for the QuikrNxt app I don’t think that my dad would have ever agreed to sign up for this. If you too are looking for score some great deals then log on to http://www.quikr.com/ and get posting.

#DigitalAxis The App Experience.

Technology,
Blink you eye and you are sure to miss a thing or two. These days with so many new inventions, you can never stop learning. You Skype your friends in London, you Face book your whereabouts, you tweet your disgust about the system and you Tinder for that someone special. It’s as if your entire existence can be defined by your phone.

The smart phone has truly redefined how you operate. From booking your air tickets to ordering your groceries, you manage all this with a click or a swipe. Technology makes life easier but we can also get guarded with it sometimes. I know so many of my friends who are still apprehensive about net banking and payment getaways. If I had to tell them to operate their bank account via a Smartphone, am sure they would break a sweat.

Not too long ago, I too was of the same opinion, until I attended the Axis Banks #DigitalAxis meet. I discovered that most of my banking needs could be accessed by the app on my Smartphone with a super secure Mpin. I was like a little wide eyed child in that boardroom.

Am not going to get pretentious , am not so big on technology nor do I understand the intricacies of finance. But at the end of the seminar I was confident that I would be making way less trios to the ATM’s and would be saving a hell lot more time that otherwise would be spent on the phone talking to the customer care.

Let’s talk about the app, sure these days every bank has one, so what is Axis doing so differently? What I realized after the presentation that Axis has put the customer first. It’s a breeze to navigate; it’s clean, clear and concise. Along with it being super easy to work with, Axis has also taken care of your security issues. You can access the app with a phone number that is registered in the Axis bank’s System only, and no other phone.

I personally love what I witnessed in that room. The entire panel of Axis was at our blogger's disposal, and mind you, there were some really smart geeks representing us. They tried all their twisted ways in which they challenged the apps security but Axis had a comeback for all the questions.

You can do much more with the axis app, for a brief introduction to help you get started:

Apart from the regular features what I really love is that I can now transfer money to anyone I fancy and all I need is their registered mobile number and am set. p.s. he doesn’t even need to be an Axis customer for me to be able to do so. Now isn’t that neat. To know more about the Axis App and to find out how it can make you’re banking effortless, log on to your nearest app store.

If Only I Could, I Would...

Every day at 6am,
I wake up to my alarm,
A brand new day, by Sting.

Turn the clock to zero, honey
I’ll sell the stock; we’ll spend all the money,
We’re starting up a brand new day.

While he sings of leaving all his cares behind, I run a hot bath; even the shower is not my solace. Making mental notes, planning the days menu, making a list of groceries that need to be picked and deciding the days outfit, it all happens in the 8 minutes that I am in the shower. If I had the luxury of doing things differently I certainly would like follow life according to my priorities.

A video from IDBI and the Be Befikar Umar Bhar campaign really forced me to put things in perspective. Here I am, almost on the verge of passing out in an 8.45 local, making a whimsical Bucket list of things, that I would do differently if I had the resources.

#1
Quit my job, it’s not something that I really enjoy doing. But since it pays the bills I have to sit on the desk like a corps and take each day as it comes. I want to be able to freelance. Work on my own terms, make time for my son, for my husband, for my friends and most importantly for my self. I want to cook and bake like a regular soccer mom. Creative gratification and something that challenges me, am I asking for too much??

#2
Travel. Solo. Feel the sand in my toes and the wind in my hair. Live like a local, try delicacies from around the world. Listen to their stories, share mine. I’ve haven't taken a vacation from work for the past one and a half year. I need a break, but my commitments have had me tied down.

#3
A small little herb garden in my in my out house. A greenhouse full of organic produce. A golden retriever and two Persian cats. A Machan over looking my wheat produce, where I do practice my morning yoga, as the dawn breaks in on me. A second home is certainly on my list. Somewhere not too far from the city, but far enough to leave the white noise behind.

#4
Support my parents financially. They are people with limited aspirations. But if only I had a little spare resources I would have loved to send them packing on a trip abroad, something that they have never done before. They spent their life time in giving me all that they could. Now it’s my turn to take care of them.

#5
Financial security. I want to be able to live with peace of mind that there is money in the right place to take care of thing whenever the need arises. Planning that is so perfect that I get regular pay outs and a backing of a good cover that takes care of my loved ones needs after am gone.

Am working towards this dream, hope I can cross all of the above, well in time.

Do Not disturb- with Quikr Nxt

Am not new to Quikr. I’ve made some great purchases off it. Some brand new, some pre-cared. Like for the time that I bought an almost new Crocs bag for my son for only 400rs, which otherwise retails for around 2,000rs. Or for the time when I bought a vintage Spanish trunk from a guy who was relocating. I’ve scored some great deals while surfing the site and I keep going back for more.

Quikr has a wide range of products to choose from and had it is present in a number of cities. After a fantastic experience of buying stuff off Quikr I decided to sell my old camera on it. It was an old OLYMPUS point and shoot camera and was just taking up space in my cupboard. So after my mom nagged me to get rid of it, I decided to sell it.

Posting add was a breeze and I could manage it all via my cell phone.  Adding pictures and details about the product was really quick and easy and I didn’t even need to reach for PC for it. In the contact section I decided to give my mother number as I though it wasn’t too safe for me to leave my contact info there.

The next day when the haunting began. As I was out, my mom was left at the receiving end of all the inquires. Though at first she was happy that at least one of them would turn into a prospective buyer, but by noon it got exhausting for her to keep track of all the interested people and their enquiries. By the time I got home in the evening, she was all worked up and regretted the idea of posting the add in the first place.
After watching the new tvc about the new Quikr Nxt feature, my mom insisted that we give it another shot and handed me a list of things from the kitchen and the attic that she was willing to part with. A unused mixer form my dad’s last year Diwali party was the first sale she made via Quikr Nxt.

The Quikr NXT is all set to redefine  e-commerce and here’s is how:

 #1.
Privacy under wraps- you have an option of keeping your contact details private and yet your buyers can connect with you via this feature. This means no inquires over the phone OR what’sapp  at odd hours.

 #2.
You have access to all your chat history, that way, you don’t have to jog your memory about the deal details. Everything is right in from of you.
 #3.
The ease to share details and pictures via the app. This one really helps to push the product, as it gives the buyer a fair idea about the purchase he is about to make.

So that's all bout the Quikr Nxt. If you too are contemplating about the unused stuff lying around in the house, I’d say give http://www.quikr.com/ a shot.
