TataZest GoaMeet Experience !

I love blogger meets, it’s a great way to connect with the fellow bloggers. But when they send you packing to an exotic destination it’s a whole new experience in itself. Blogadda a.k.a. BA and the generous people from Tata flew top 50 bloggers from all the corners of the country for a night of horsepower and muscle at Zuri, GOA.

5 points of awesomeness about the ZestGoaMeet:

As we boarded busses to take us to our swanky hotel, they had little blue bags waiting for us on our seats; it had some sweet and savory goodies. Right then I knew we could expect some really great things off this trip. Let the pampering begin….

At the gate, the whole BA team was there to receive us. Super star treatment I must say! We got a traditional welcome loaded with the kumkum tikas and welcome drinks. I felt I was a part of a destination wedding minus the bride and the groom and the clingy relatives.

Meeting others, some new some old. Probably the highlight of my trip. Made great friends. From sharing the room with a total stranger from Delhi who btw was a total sweetheart *hugs manjulika*. To soaking up some sun with some fantastic ladies.  Stealing brownies and begging form beer, to raking up a really intellectual conversation about the lack of plus size fashion in India. Loved every minute of it.

Let’s talk business, the presentations from Tata on its latest product Zest was a new experience. I leant so much about the functionalities  of a car and its mechanics. It gave me a new perspective to look at the machine with a new found respect. Every line is there for a reason, every trimming has a though behind it. Amazing.

The drive, you can read all about my drive experience here:

The great hospitality of the superheroes from BA,
HARISH – you are like this one big huggable bare. The way you made sure everything was in its place was fantastic. It not easy to handle 50 unstable bunch of opinionated blogger, some can give a drama queen dive a run for its money. But you pulled it off with a fantastic smile and kudos for that.
Ankita, Anand and others from BA, thank you for having me on this trip. Am glad I got to experience it all. Your efforts were fantastic and can’t wait to connect again soon. Great show guys, pat your backs team BA. And Tata thank you for all the TLC. Hope to see the Zest on the roads soon.

The Monochrome Dream #WhatTheBlack.

Context: A list of 5 Black things I dream of,
And I deliberately say dream,
Cause it’s not too long before I get there.

#TataZest and the drive

I had the privilege to drive the all new Tata Zest over the weekend as a part of their blogger review program in Goa. Over 50 top blogger were invited for the event to witnessed the unveiling of the Tata’s new Game changer i.e The ZEST.

The first impressions,
The car is a total head turner. Nothing like anything  you’ve seen from Tata before. It’s evident that Tata’s have put in a lot of thought into this vehicle and that they are here to change the dynamics of the compact sedan market. It won’t be surprising if we see that happen because they have a fab product and an aggressive HorizonNext philosophy to turn the game around. Competitors are you listening?
The cars exterior is pretty neat and futuristic. The use of LED lights is first in its class and gives the car a nice finish. The touch of chrome on the trimmings gives a nice appeal . The mesh grill in the front  adds that little kink to the face of the car. And the detailing on the bonnet gives it a muscular look. To sum it up everything works in unison to give the Zest a swanky new appeal.

The cabin,
It’s sure to bowl you  over,
With the quality of fabric and trimming, with the quality of plastics and the impeccable space in the car, its sure to win you over. The main console is not just swanky but also means business , with an 8 speaker technology from Herman, it’s your own private little genie in the car. It can read your text,  take calls, play music from your Cell ,SD card, USB and Bluetooth and more. Agreed, that a lot of car these days come with the above features but the best part about the Voice recognition system in the Zest is that they have tweaked it to understand the Indian accent. Now that’s a first.

The drive,
I drove the mid segment automatic diesel version and boy was I in love. Having just bought an automatic transmission back home I had something concrete to compare it with. The car drives like a dream and am not just saying that. The steering is responsive and the engine just glided through the winding Goan roads.
Though it was a diesel it didn’t feel heavy, and was pretty quiet for its characteristics.  There was zero body roll as I took a back seat from the second pit stop, something that you otherwise experience from tall cars. The legroom for the passenger seat is generous. The seats, both front and back brace you with comfort. And the fact that they have Bosch’s breaking system and a baked steal body onboard the car makes it a safe choice for the mad driving on the Mumbai streets.

With so many features on board the Zest, it demands a test drive today.
I just hope they can price is competitively and its sure to break some records.
