The Great Indian Wedding Toys!

Weddings  in the late 80’s and the early 90’s were a blast for the kids.
Back in the days a peculiar toy vendor was parked outside every Shadi hall .He had all sorts of goodies that excited my little self beyond imagination. The toys were special as you couldn’t source them from your regular toy shops but were only sold at these Venus. They were simpler times when The Hamleys was an alien world and games of hide and seek were far more captivating than your Angry Birds genre today.
One would find toys like :a snake made out of cane , that  flexed up to two feet and came with stinger at the end, (my mum never bout me this one , she was always  worried id poke someone in the eye with it), a kaleidoscopes made out of broken bangles ,a black rectangle projectors with 5 negatives (mainly of iconic places of India).

One of my other favorite was a magical trick paper that came with a glass window in the center, and every time I folded it ,a new picture appeared in the window(i dont know how). It had beautiful pop art pictures of the Taj Mahal  and The Bengal tiger.

These toys didn’t cost a fortune .Hence  the parents didn’t mind the little treat, as it kept the kids busy and they could happily focus on socializing !  The best part about all these toys was , they were  proudly made in INDIA .

Cut to 2012 ,
The toy vendors are nowhere in sight , they are replaced by posh valet services. Whatever vendors that are still left in smaller wedding Venus , sell cheap imports from china, whose unboxing time and the time it takes to fall apart is pretty much the same . Not to mention the toxic colors and the choking hazards that come free with it.

I wish I could source the toys form back in the days . would love to see my son enjoy them as much as I did .Any of you reading my post know what I m talking about holler back at me , Also if you know a place where I can find these toys, let me know.  Will be ready to gate crash that wedding any day!

(p.s. did try and source pictures for my post but looks like Google doesn’t  have a clue what i am talking about )

Dealing with loss.

I like to live in denial. It’s a happy place for me. But there are times when your bubble bursts and your back to dealing with the truths of life and DEATH !

I recently lost an aunt. We knew she was not going to make it , in fact prayed each day that the moves to a better place. But  when the time came it was devastating to deal with. During these times I m forced to introspect of how shallow life is and how we just waste our time in doing things that just don’t matter.
So much effort  put in to please others , but are we really happy inside?
A wardrobe full of labels but a soul so lost!

Men are visual animals !
Hence I have created a visual guide for  the men to decode the female brain.
The topic at hand today is : Misconception of the alpha male about his stubble !
Men and women are from different planets, as clearly pointed out by John Gray ,hence their cognitive capabilities also differ. They might be looking at the same picture but might perceive it very differently .

To prove this hypothesis, let’s have a little game of  He says , She says.

He says : I look like this when I sport a stubble !

She says : that’s who you remind me of when I see you with that stubble!

He says : a kiss by me fells like :

She says : a kiss form you feels like :

 He says : stubble represents:

She says: stubble represents:

He says : Man I m going to see some action today with this rugged look!

She says : if he comes in today with that 5pm shadow for the date, all he’ll get to see ,  is the door!

There it is !
That’s a low down on the truth about what women actually think about men with stubble !

But there are some men who think that their stubble makes them attractive.
So let’s take a closer look at that beard and find out more ,
And by close , I mean literally!

Was that attractive ? I don’t think so !
This picture just made me loose my lunch!
Forget about canoodling a man with a stubble , i wont want to stay in the same room with him!

For all the men reading my post , let me share a  secret about women :
We think Shaving Is Sexy!
Something about seeing a man lather up and shave  is both comforting and sexy. Bonus points if he uses cool tools like a shaving blade like Gillette , foam etc . Extra bonus points if he lets his woman try shaving for him!

But men, if you still want to live in denial , it’s your call,
The ultimate truth is : if you don’t  SHAVE , you will have to CRAVE !
