The birthday favor with a difference…

Planning birthdays…
It is such a daunting task. Being a creative mamma that I am, I am expected to raise the bar with every passing year. It’s the kinda of pressure I put on myself and I frankly enjoy the appreciation   that follows.
This year we were gripped by the Minion fever and hence the whole party revolved around the minion theme. Instead of a traditional party host or an over kill play zone, we hosted the party at home. The living room was transformed into a carnival. The idea was to get the kids involved. We laid down 15 game stations where kids could come and try their luck out. The activities ranged from coloring minion pictures to counting away candies.. From putting together a minion puzzle to fishing out minion cut outs from the pond.
For every activity they do well, the kids would earn a minion currency. This currency at the end of the day could be exchanged for prizes at the goodies counter. The living room was alive with activity with moms going gaga over the concept and the kids trying to do their best to earn more.. The party was a great success…

But my most favorite part about the party was the return favor each child took home along with the goodies they earned for themselves. Choosing a birthday favor is a different task in itself. A stroll down the Crawford Market and you understand how the Indian economy is being brutally murdered by the giant Dragon.
You are spoilt for choices, take your pick from toxic Tiffin boxes or substandard stationery. Just as I was trying to find the perfect gift in the mere budget of 100 rs. I stumbled upon a store selling pots. Just then I knew what I wanted to give away as a gift to these 5 year olds. I picked those pots up for 25 each, a steal I reckon.

On my way back I made a quick stop at the local nursery bought, 7 bags of fertile soil, along with two packets of seeds for the cherry tomato plant. I was elated with my decision that in the world of BPA free only, I didn’t invest in some lame toy but instead bought something more valuable for the kids.
each gift bag contained a pot, some soil and tiny Ziploc with some seeds. The pot had the following label:

Vedant plated some seeds of his own on his birthday… Watering his plat is his duty which he gladly does every day after he gets home from school. At times I’ve caught him talking to the pot, asking the seeds to grow fast.  I still remember the day when the first green shoot broke out of the dirt. He practically got the entire 4th floor to come and check the new member of the Ramani family. Now that’s Real togetherness…
Other moms’ too had similar stories to share…

Now we are all waiting to see our first batch of cherry tomatoes on out sills. Kissan too has a similar initiative, check it out and be a part of it…

Pampers Premium Care Pants Product Launch with BlogAdda

Product launches can be drab. Trust me I say this from experience. So when an invite from Blogadda arrived for the launch of the all new Pampers Premium Care Pants I wasn’t really keen to attend. It was on a Sunday and I was headed in the same direction to drop off my Husband to the airport so since I was just 5 minutes away from the venue I decided to drop by.

This launch was special cause I decided to tag my 5yr old along. It was exacting to introduce him to my world. I told myself if it turns out as one of those boring launches am out’a here.. but I stuck around , till the very end… And it sure was fun.

right at the front..

Firstly the Venue: The swanky new 5star, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, was the perfect back drop to an opulent launch. the board room where the launch was about to happen was done up tastefully. I decided to get myself a seat at the back so that I could blend in, but Vedant didn’t want to miss any action. He want right up and stained himself right in the front.  The Pink me could only just follow, hoping he dose nothing to draw attention. But he was just a precious little peach.

QnA under way.

The launch was a success with celebrity line up of Actress & Celebrity mother-Tara Sharma, Child sleep consultant-Ajita Gopal Seethepalli, Pampers R&D Expert – Dr. Wei Sing Long and Actress & Television presenter-Mandira Bedi. They came in spoke about the Importance of Diapering and shared candid parenting moments and everything in between.
#2 was voted ie the Pampers Premium care Pants as the softest of the three.

the baby lotion test- to protect those precious bottoms.
What also set apart this launch was the make shift lab they created right in the center of the Ballroom. That’s where we could see Pampers put their claims to the test. I was really impressed with the quality of the all new Pampers Premium Care Pants. I was a pampers Swaddler mom back in 2010. My diapers were flown in from the US, cause nothing back then from the Indian market met my paranoid mommy standards.

But after experiencing the all new Pampers Premium Care Pants, if in the future and I strongly say If in the future with very slim possibilities do I decide to have a second baby then I would be comfortable reaching out to the Pampers Premium Care Pants to keep my baby dry and happy.
The product launch was interactive, fun and informative. It was short and gave out all the necessary information and nothing more. I hope more brands follow suit and learn how it’s really done form this Pampers event. Kudos to BlogAdda for keeping it Simple yet effective.

The treats that kept him busy.

My son had the best time gorging on all the goodies, not to mention he loved the attention from the fellow bloggers. On our way back home he said… Mommy I loved your office, its way better than Dad’s…
